Sarah Hodgdon
Conservation Director, Sierra Club
As conservation director for Sierra Club, Sarah Hodgdon oversees the organization's national campaigns and programs including the Beyond Coal, Beyond Oil, and Resilient Habitats campaigns. She also manages the organization's federal lobbyists, organizers, lawyers as well as the programs dedicated to partnerships with labor, environmental justice groups, and youth. Finally, she is responsible for the organization's outings programs. Hodgdon was recently part of the team that landed a $50 million grant from Bloomberg Philanthropies and has been at the helm of the organization's plan to double the size of the staff and activists committed to replacing as much as a third of the nation's coal plants with clean energy by 2020. Prior to joining the Sierra Club, she was executive director of Dogwood Alliance, a North Carolina based forest protection organization from 2000-2006.

 

 


 

 

Dolores Huerta Cofounder and first vice president of the United Farm Workers, Dolores Huerta (sometimes referred to as Dolores "Huelga, " Spanish for "strike") is the most prominent Chicana labor leader, Environmental and social justice activist in the United States. For more than 30 years she has dedicated her life to the struggle for justice, dignity, environmental issues  and a decent standard of living for all one of the United States' most exploited groups-the men, women, and children who toil in the fields and orchards picking the vegetables and fruits that stock grocery stores. The recipient of countless awards from community service, labor, Hispanic, and women's organizations as well as the subject of corridos (ballads) and murals, the vibrant and charismatic Huerta is a much-admired role model for Mexican American women.





Osprey Orielle Lake 

OspreyOrielle Lakeis the Founder/Director of the Women’s Earth and Climate Caucus where she works nationally and internationally with grassroots leaders, policy-makers,business people, and scientists to promote resilient communities, foster apost-carbon energy future, while also addressing societal transformation. She is an advisor to International Eco-Cities Framework and Standards Initiative,on the Legislative Assistance Working Group of the Global Alliance for the Rights of Nature,and has traveled to five continents studying ancient and modern cultures while making presentations at international conferences and universities. She is the Founder/Artist of the International Cheemah Monument Project, creating 18 foot bronze sculpture monuments, where people can ponder a better future for the earth and humanity. Her book, Uprisings for the Earth: Reconnecting Culture with Nature (White Cloud Press), wona 2011 Nautilus Book Award.

Jamie Henn is the Communications and East Asia Director for the international climate campaign 350.org. In 2009, he coordinated media for over 5,200 simultaneous events in more than 180 countries, landing 350.org on front pages and newscasts around the world. CNN called the events “the most widespread day of political action in history.” As East Asia director for 350.org, Jamie coordinated nearly 500 events across East Asia, including over 300 rallies in China. In 2010, 350.org organized a Global Work Party on 10/10/10, with thousands of events planned across the globe where people got to work on climate solutions. Before co-founding 350.org with environmental writer Bill McKibben, Jamie helped lead the Step It Up 2007 campaign. He is a graduate of Middlebury College and co-author of the book Fight Global Warming Now.

It is the largest provider of social services in the city, serving over three thousand meals a day, providing AIDS/HIV screenings, offering adult education programs, and giving assistance to women dealing with homelessness, domestic violence, substance abuse, and mental health issues
